Used Golf Ball Grading Scale
All of our used golf balls are hand sorted and graded on the common "A" rating scale with AAAAA being the highest and AA being the lowest quality we carry.
AAAAA Quality
The highest quality golf balls that we carry and the highest common classification. The AAAAA balls are like new, have a consistent color and a glossy shine. These balls were probably hit into the water the first time they were teed up or fell out of a golf bag. These balls may have company logos, printed player initials, or player pen markings but it will not affect the quality of play from the ball. You will not find any X-Outs or Practice balls in our AAAAA balls.
AAAA Quality
2nd highest quality golf ball that we carry and the best value for used golf balls. The AAAA balls might have a minor imperfection or scuff mark but it will not affect the performance of the ball. These balls have commonly seen about three holes of usage. You will not find any X-Outs or Practice balls in our AAAA balls.
AAA Quality
3rd highest quality golf ball that we carry. Scuffed or blemished balls that may have minor discoloration. Most of these balls are still very playable but you won’t mind it if you lose it. This is generally a ball that has been played for about nine holes. You will find a few good quality X-Outs or Practice balls.
AA Quality
4th quality golf balls are appropriate for range or green practice and have more imperfections than balls in AAA Quality. Discoloration is common, as are major scuff marks, and blemishes. This is generally a ball that has been played for 18 holes or more. It might include X-Outs or Practice balls.
